The initial shows made in Greece seemed to be recorded at first of the 20th century by regional directors. It the acquired after WWII, in the 1950s and 1960s. This was also when foreign directors found our country.

Boy on a dolphin (1957)
“Boy on a dolphin” is the first American movie ever recorded in Greece. It’s not an exaggeration to express that picture set Greece on the tourist map.It identifies the story of a Greek girl who finds an old statue while fishing in the sea. The key celebrity is Sophia Loren, who had been greeted by enormous crowds when she first set base in Greece. It seems that her reputation improved even more after her famous moist gown scene.

Boy on a Dolphin was recorded in several settings on the Greek islands, including Hydra, Poros, Mykonos, and Delos. There are some interesting displays inside the National Archaeological Museum and upon the Acropolis!

Never on Sunday (1960)
Another previous Greek movie, “Never on Sunday,” identifies an enjoyable story between an American intellectual and a Greek prostitute. Written and guided by Jules Dassin, that movie features the already recognized actress Melina Mercouri. The couple got committed in 1966, and Mercouri was offered as Greece’s minister of tradition and sports in the 1980s and 1990s. This is her photo in the Acropolis city station.
